HA NOI — Viet Nam's top leaders have exchanged congratulatory messages with their Chinese counterparts to mark the 62nd anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries on January 18.
The messages were from Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, President Truong Tan Sang, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung to General Secretary of the Communist Party of China and President Hu Jintao, Chairman of the Standing Committee of China's National People's Congress Wu Bangguo and Premier Wen Jiabao.
Deputy PM Nguyen Thien Nhan and Minister of Foreign Affairs Pham Binh Minh also joined in messages to Chinese State Councillor Dai Bingguo and Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi.
The Vietnamese ambassador to China, Nguyen Van Tho, the Chinese ambassador to Viet Nam, Kong Xuanyou, and friendship associations between Viet Nam and China have organised events to mark the day.
Austria supports vocational training
HA NOI — An agreement was signed between the Ministry of National Defence and the Austrian Government in Ha Noi yesterday on the provision of a project to upgrade ministry-run vocational training schools with funding from Austria.
Under the second phase of the project from now to 2015, the Austrian Government will help 11 schools retrain their teachers and managers, supply them with equipment and upgrade their production workshops.
The funding is from Austrian Official Development Assistance.
