HA NOI — Viet Nam wanted to enhance relations with the International Organisation of French Speakers and would continue contributing its activities, Deputy Foreign Minister Le Luong Minh said yesterday.
Minh spoke highly of the role and contribution of the organisation in dealing with peace, security, development, culture and environment while receiving its director general, Clement Duhaime yesterday.
Duhaime said he appreciated the role of Viet Nam in the region and in the French-speaking community.
He said he hoped Viet Nam, a prestigious member of ASEAN, would act as a bridge to enhance co-operation between OIF and ASEAN.
He said he would sponsor a French language training project for foreign ministry officials and civil servants. — VNS
