HA NOI — President Truong Tan Sang spoke highly of the expanding Viet Nam-Japan partnership while receiving the President of the Osaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Chairman of Keihan Electric Railway Co. Ltd, Sato Shigetaka, in Ha Noi yesterday.
Sang told Shigetaka that he expected his company would be able to contribute to Viet Nam's infrastructure, particularly in urban areas.
Sang also welcomed the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Osaka's efforts in asking its businessmen to accept Vietnamese as trainees.
He said Shigetaka's visit would pave the way for the construction of Japanese hi-tech industrial parks in Viet Nam.
Shigetaka briefed Sang about the Keihan's railway company's work in surveying the Ha Noi-Hoa Lac railway.
He said he expected that with their construction experience and hi-tech ability, many Japanese businesses would be able to co-operate with Vietnamese partners in various fields, particularly railway transport.
He also said he hoped Viet Nam would open more flights to Osaka and establish naval routes between Osaka and sea ports in the central region of Viet Nam. — VNS
