Czech President arrives in Viet Nam

Ha Noi — Czech President Vaclav Klaus starts his official visit to Viet Nam today.

During the five-day visit, the Czech President will hold meetings with General Secretary Nong Duc Manh, President Nguyen Minh Triet, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Phu Trong.

President Vaclav Klaus is expected to attend the Viet Nam-Czech Republic Business Forum, meet Vietnamese who have studied and worked in former Czechoslovakia and visit Viet Nam’s National Economics University.

Viet Nam and the Czech Republic established a joint government committee on economic and trade co-operation in 1998. The two countries signed an economic co-operation agreement in September 2005.

At present, more than 40,000 Vietnamese people are working and living in the Czech Republic. — VNS
