HÀ NỘI  The first-ever football festival, which attracted a lot of attention from football fans in Hà Nội, took place in the heart of the city’s crowded pedestrian street on Saturday.

Audiences witnessed exciting competitions among the best street football teams in Hà Nội, along with various football games and street football performances by skilled artists, at the “The Pride of Capital Football” festival.

“Football Challenge with the Stars” was the highlight of the event, as Hanoi F’C’s three superstars -- Thành Lương, Văn Quyết and Quang Hải -- showed off their skills and interacted with their fans.

The event was organised by Hanoi FC and Thailand’s SCG Group as part of a sports development programme for the youth by the Hà Nội Department of Sports and Culture.

“We are eager to see many youngsters cheer and participate in the event as it shows how enthusiastic they are about football. Nurturing this spirit is the key to well-being and a healthy generation. This is also in line with SCG’s vision to bring better living to Vietnamese people,” Montri Mahaplerkpong, deputy country director of SCG Vietnam, said.

SCG, one of the leading conglomerates in the ASEAN region, comprises three core businesses - building materials, chemicals and packaging. SCG has a total of 21 companies across Việt Nam driven by approximately 8,300 employees. — VNS
