The HCM City-based Vietnamese American Vocational Training College (VATC) announced last week that it will forbid its lecturers from being involved in romantic relations with its students.
VATC is not alone. Several other universities and colleges in the country have explicitly or subtly prohibited close relations with students. All shared the view that such policy will help improve fairness and transparency in learning environment.
What do you think of the policy? Will it improve fairness and transparency? Or is it a violation of individual freedoms? How does society view teacher-student relations in your country?
