Salmonella found in slaughterhouse beef

Update: February, 27/2012 - 10:11

KON TUM — Testing of 22 beef samples taken from licensed slaughterhouses in the Central Highlands City of Kon Tum found that 83 per cent were contaminated with dangerous salmonella bacteria, the Kon Tum People's Committee said on Thursday. The People's Committee said it has already offered support to localities to build centralised slaughterhouses to control the contamination, but only one out of nine districts has proceeded to build a concentrated slaughterhouse. — VNS
