HA NOI – Strong cold spells are forecast to continue hitting northern provinces this month, according to the National Centre for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting.
As a result, monthly average temperatures in the region are set to be 1-2 degrees Celsius lower than usual.
The centre has urged provinces, especially those in mountainous areas, to keep protecting livestock and crops from the cold and ensuring adequate storage of food for cattle and poultry.
A fresh cold spell forecast for this afternoon in the region is set to push temperatures down to between 10 and 16 degrees.
North-easterly winds across Bac Bo (the Gulf of Tonkin) and offshore the central region have also been forecast. – VNS
