Mariah Carey confirmed that she will return to Times Square in New York to ring in 2018, a year after she was humiliated by technical issues at the annual televised ball-drop. 

The force was with Disney as the latest Star Wars movie The Last Jedi beat out the competition to top the Christmas weekend box office, according to industry estimates released Sunday. 

The 10th HCM City Book Expo will open at Lê Văn Tám Park in District 3 in March.

The central city will host 143,000 tourists, including 82,000 foreigners, visiting during the Christmas and New Year vacation from December 24 through January 2.

The second Sa Pa Winter Festival opened on Saturday with great performances and saw the participation of thousands of local residents and tourists.
