Two first productions of a special book collection featuring works of prize-winning authors have been released by the Youth Publishing House.

HCM CITY— Two first productions of a special book collection featuring works of prize-winning authors have been released by the Youth Publishing House.

The publication marks the 72nd anniversary of the Việt Nam People’s Army Day (December 22) and the 60th anniversary of the People’s Army Literature and Arts magazine.  

The books include 70 works each of veteran and young authors who’ve have won several top prizes in national writing contests.

The first book is called Tuyển Tập Truyện Ngắn Đoạt Giải Cao 30 Năm Đổi Mới 1986-2016 (Collection of Award-Winning Short Stories on Đổi Mới (renovation) Period between 1986 and 2016). 

The highlights of this collection are works by female authors like Y Ban, Nguyễn Thị Thu Huệ, Dạ Ngân, Đỗ Bích Thúy and Thùy Linh.  

The second collection, Tuyển Tập Truyện Ngắn Hay 2000-2016 ( Best short stories between 2000-2016), includes works written by veteran authors like Ma Văn Kháng, Dương Hướng, Trần Thùy Mai and Hồ Anh Thái.

These stories highlight social and cultural changes and developments in the country that were published in the People’s Army Literature and Arts magazine since 1957.

Through the two books, readers can learn more about the country’s contemporary literature and improve their knowledge of the country’s renovation and integration processes during different periods of time.
