Thai team’s cyclist wins 8th stage of Tôn Hoa Sen Cup

HCM CITY — Desriac Loic of Thai team SICT won the eighth stage of the VTV International Cycling Tournament for the Tôn Hoa Sen Cup yesterday.

He beat Trịnh Đức Tâm of Hạt Ngọc Trời and Nguyễn Tấn Hoài of Dược Domesco Đồng Tháp and completed the 112km stage from Nam Định to Hải Phòng in 2:33:51 hours.

Thanks to some cool weather, the stage finished earlier than expected, according to organisers.

Sprints 1 and 2 were won by Trần Thanh Điền of Mathnasium HCM and Nguyễn Minh Luận of Vĩnh Long.

Võ Phú Trung of Hạt Ngọc Trời retained the yellow jersey while the green jersey was won by Jos Koop.

The race finishes in Hà Nội tomorrow (September 2), Independence Day. — VNS
