heats up for best friendly logo
HA NOI — A competition
to design a logo celebrating the 35th anniversary of diplomatic relations
between Australia and Viet Nam kicked off in Ha Noi yesterday.
All Vietnamese citizens
can participate in the competition but entrees must centre on the three elements
that characterise the two countries’ relationship; a long and positive
history; increasing breadth, depth and vitality; and an enormously promising
future, according to Australian ambassador Bill Tweddell.
The logo competition is
one of many official cultural events at the Australian Embassy in Ha Noi and the
Australian Consulate General in HCM City marking the anniversary which falls on
26 February 2008.
Organisers hope to receive
a large number of entries with high levels of creativity.
The winner will be
announced at a ceremony on Australian Day in Ha Noi. He or she also will be
awarded VND10 million and the winning logo will be used for all the embassy’s
activities through 2008.
Encouragement prizes will
also be up for grabs, including a variety of gifts and a certificate from the
embassy for short listed designs.
"I hope this
competition will be a good opportunity for all participants to show their talent
as well as to understand more about our countries and together, preserve and
develop the close relationship between Viet Nam and Australia," the
All designs can be sent to
the Australian Embassy, 8 Dao Tan Street, Ha Noi, and Consulate General in 5B
Ton Duc Thang, HCM City. Entries should be sent before November 30. — VNS
