Korean 'giant' partners with Vietnamese company on exporting fruits
A strategic cooperation agreement on agricultural products between Cai Be district government, LDL Agrico and Hyundai Agro (Korea)
Recently, the People’s Committee of Cai Be district, LDL Agrico, and Hyundai Agro signed a strategic MOU concerning planning, developing and exporting agricultural products, especially Hoa Loc mango. Mr. Tran Van Ut, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee and Mr. Le Van Thuan, Vice Chairman of the District People’s Committee, attended the signing ceremony.
LDL Agrico is considered a strategic agricultural partner of Cai Be district. The company functions as a bridge connecting farmers and consumers. With its extensive partner network among agricultural trade and export globally, sufficiently experienced management board and advantages in terms of logistics and finance, LDL Agrico is making themselves more valuable in the Vietnamese agricultural supply chain. The company’s version is not fixed to being a mere trading company. LDL Agrico’s Chairman, Mr. Lee Hyung Seung affirmed that the company is aiming to bring technology using the 4.0 platform to maximise the efficiency of the management system for Vietnamese farmers to improve their agricultural practices.
From Hyundai Agro, an agricultural trading subsidiary of multinational Hyundai Corporation, after the official visit experiencing local mango products with the local government and LDL Agrico, CEO, Mr. Lee Chang Hoon expressed he was impressed with the local mangoes, particularly Hoa Loc mango. Mr. Lee will ensure that Hyundai Agro will support the consumption of agricultural products from Cai Be district and bring them to global markets.
At the event, Head of Cai Be district Agricultural Department introduced characteristics and potentials of mangoes in the district. Moreover, the sides reached an agreement on signing an MOU on cooperation on planning, developing and exporting district agricultural products.
Parties will discuss, plan and supervise the harvesting process, from flowering to fruiting to reach quality and quantity demands. The local government will support all parties for the development of this plan. Furthermore, LDL Agrico will be in charge of the packaging process, processing media activities for brand identification, fertiliser and technical support. Cai Be District will support export and customs procedures, as well as import of equipment.
Cai Be district currently has 3,251 ha of Hoa Loc mango, Cat Chu mango, Taiwan mango and grafted mango trees. Among the area, there are over 1,000 ha of Hoa Loc mango farms reaching VietGap and Global Gap standards. Cai Be district focuses on selection of best quality trees of Hoa Loc mangoes in order to help farmers build mango resource areas at 13 communes which have geography indications for Hoa Loc mango products.
