HA NOI – The central coastal province of Khanh Hoa plans to invest VND4 billion (US$192,000) from its budget in a solar energy station for the 50 households on Ninh Tan island.
Tran Son Hai, vice chairman of Khanh Hoa People's Committee, said the provincial authority will ask the islanders to help set up the solar power station.
The island, which lies about one hour by boat from the mainland, is not hooked up to the national power grid.
The provincial authority said it also planned to provide solar power to neighbouring Ninh Dao and Diep Son islands. – VNS
