HCM CITY (VNS) — The HCM City Housing Development Bank (HDBank) and the Viet Nam Southern Food Corporation (Vinafood 2) signed an agreement on Wednesday to provide loans to stakeholders involved in large-scale rice field projects in the Cuu Long Delta.

Under the deal signed in HCM City, farmers and processing and trading businesses will be able to obtain loans via Vinafood 2, the country's largest rice producing, trading and exporting company.

The co-operation promises to create close links between farmers and businesses and the bank under the large-scale rice field model in the country's granary, which is expected to spark an improvement in rice production and trading. — VNS
