HCM CITY (VNS)— The groundbreaking ceremony of Vie-Pan Techno Park project took place in HCM City's Nha Be District on Monday.

The project, invested in by Vie-Pan Techno Park joint stock Company at a cost of some US$31 million, will cover an area of 13 ha in the Hiep Phuoc Industrial Park. It will open in October 2014.

The park aims to attract the support of Japanese SMEs by providing a full package of services, from factories to legal procedures, according to customers' demand, which they hope will create favourable conditions for Japanese investors in the city.

This is a new model of investment in HCM City, that specifically targets Japanese investors, according to Le Manh Ha, vice chairman of the municipal People's Committee.

In the future, Ha hopes that this model will be expanded to other industrial and technology parks in the city. — VNS
