Can Tho export values fall 14 per cent in 2012

CAN THO (VNS)— Can Tho Province's exports hit US$1.3 billion this year, a decrease of 14.3 per cent compared to last year, reported the municipal authorities.

The Mekong Delta province's main exports include seafood, rice, canned fruit and vegetables, clothes, traditional handicrafts and pharmaceutical products, said Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Son.

The People's Committee hopes for the value of exports next year to reach $1.5 billion, and the province's GDP to spike to 12.5 per cent.-VNS
