15,600 cruise tourists visit Nha Trang in Q1

Nha Trang City in the central province of Khánh Hoà welcomed 13 cruise ships in the first quarter with nearly 15,600 visitors on board.

The tourist numbers represented an increase of 2,000 year-on-year, the city said.

Most of them were from the UK, the Netherlands and Italy.

1,620 work accidents in HCMC in 2015

More than 1,620 workplace accidents occurred in HCM City last year, the highest number in the country, according to the city’s Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs.

Of them 105 involved fatalities.

Total compensation worth VNĐ153 billion was paid while the damages came to VNĐ22 billion.

The department said the main cause for the accidents was violation of safety regulations like failure to use safety equipment or lack of safety training.

China Southern announce more VN flights

A China Southern Airlines spokesperson announced the introduction of flights from Quangzhou to Đà Nẵng and Phú Quốc in July. With these, the airlines will fly to five destinations in Việt Nam, with Cam Ranh, HCM City and Hà Nội being the others.

The announcement came at a meeting between the airlines and the HCM City Department of Tourism last week to discuss ways to boost tourism and aviation co-operation in 2016-17.

Trà Vinh plans clean water project

The Cửu Long (Mekong) Delta province of Trà Vinh said it planned to begin a project to supply clean water.

The project, to be handled by the Trà Vinh city Investment management Board, will be approved within 45 days.

 

On completion, it will bring clean water to 300 households in Long Đức Commune.
