Chemical warehouses operate illegally
Nearly half of chemical warehouses and shops in HCM City have not been licensed or granted certificates for operation, according to the city's Department of Industry and Trade.
Of 638 chemical trading facilities, about 400 sell industrial chemicals and the rest trade in other chemicals like food additives and substances used in healthcare.
The illegal facilities pose food-safety risks, as well as fire and explosions, the department said.
