Can Tho develops high-tech agriculture

The Cuu Long (Mekong) River Delta City of Can Tho's Agriculture and Rural Development Department has launched a project to develop high-tech agriculture by 2020. Under the VND3.6 trillion (US$150 million) project, the city's high-tech farming area is expected to make up 10-15 per cent of the total cultivation area by 2015, and 20-35 per cent by 2020.

Ancient artefacts unearthed in Ha Tinh

Hundreds of artefacts at least 4,000 years old were found at the Thach Lac archaeological site in Ha Tinh Province's Thach Ha District, Le Ba Hanh, deputy director of the Ha Tinh Province Museum, said.

Archaeologists from the Viet Nam Archaeology Institute and the museum found the pottery and stone artefacts, including axes, pots and jars, and animal bone jewellery. They also discovered a skeleton and a large number of teeth belonging to various animals.

Hau Giang attracts investment in tourism

The Mekong River Delta Province of Hau Giang has found investors for nine tourism projects costing $33.5 million, heard a seminar on development held on Thursday in the province's Vi Thanh City.

More than 100 delegates, including authorities, business leaders and experts, also provided methods to turn tourism into the province's key economic sector.
