The Government has agreed to advance VND210 billion (US$9.87 million) from Government bonds for the new rural area programme in six provinces from 2014-2016.
The provinces include Thai Binh with VND75 billion; Thua Thien-Hue, VND28 billion; Da Nang, VND11 billion; Khanh Hoa, VND25 billion; Lam Dong, 45 billion; and Hau Giang, VND26 billion. The capital will be disbursed until the end of next year.

Viet Nam invests more in Cambodia
Vietnamese businesses have invested in over 130 projects in Cambodia worth more than US$3 billion. It is estimated that total direct investment of Viet Nam in Cambodia will reach $4.2 billion by the end of next year, according to Truong Minh Nhut, chairman of the Viet Nam-Cambodia Friendship Organisation in HCM City.
Companies have invested in telecommunications, banking, energy, rubber plantation and farm produce processing. The businesses include Bank for Investment and Development of Viet Nam, Viettel, Viet Nam Rubber Group, Viet Nam National Oil and Gas Group, Vietnam Airlines, Hoang Anh Gia Lai group, VinaCapital, Vinafood2 and Saigontourist.

Work starts on general hospital in Soc Trang
The Cuu Long (Mekong) Delta province of Soc Trang on Thursday began construction on Tran De General Hospital in Tran De District to meet medical treatment needs of local residents.
Covering an area of 11,600 square metres, the 100-bed hospital has a total investment of VND120 billion ($5.64 million), sourced from the Social Welfare Fund in the region, of which VND50 billion ($2.35 million) comes from the central bank. The hospital is scheduled for completion in late 2016.
