Under a long-term programme supporting young professionals, the central province of Thua Thien-Hue will provide a free three-month advanced training course to 32 people working in remote districts of Quang Dien, Phong Dien, Phu Loc and Phu Vang. Begun early last year, the programme will run until 2020. It aims to improve human resources in the province.

HCM City to resettle those living near canals
HCM City authorities will move 4,500 households living near the canals of Tham Luong, Ben Cat, Rach Nuoc Len, and Thanh Da in the last quarter of the year. The households will be resettled in apartments built by housing projects under the Department of Construction. The city will spend VND4 trillion (US$240 million) to complete the resettlement.

Major floods to hit southern provinces
High tides will appear in HCM City and other provinces in the south in coming days, causing flooding, the National Centre for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting has said.
Tides at downstream areas of the Sai Gon River and Dong Nai River will reach their highest level in HCM City this weekend. This year, serious flooding caused by high tides has occurred 19 times in 26 areas of the city.
The city's Steering Centre for Urban Flood Control Programme has urged local authorities to begin operation of 12 flood-prevention projects. However, they will not be completed until 2016.
