The Ministry of Health will launch a programme to provide free measles, mumps, and rubella vaccines for 23 million children aged 1-14 this year. The Ministry will spend more than US$ 36 million on the project, which will end in February 2015.

Dong Thap builds waste treatment systems
The Cuu Long (Mekong) River Delta province of Dong Thap spent VND44 billion (US$ 2 million) on building waste treatment systems in five hospitals. The money came from a loan project funded by the World Bank (WB). The work is expected to be completed this year.
The province plans to build another five systems in local hospitals next year, with investment capital funded by the World Bank.

Ministry provides rice to flooded areas
The Government asked Ministry of Finance to provide 772 tonnes of rice from the State reserve to help poor people living in flooded areas in the central province of Ninh Thuan. Ninh Thuan's authorities will co-operate with relevant agencies to deliver the rice to needy households.

New urban area plans two parks
Two parks on a total of 30 hectares of land will be built in the Thu Thiem Urban Area in HCM City's District 2, according to city authorities.
The construction has a total investment capital of VND1.97 trillion (US$93 million).
In late May, the Prime Minister approved a project to build four roads for VND12 trillion ($571 million) in Thu Thiem as well. The construction is expected to be finished in 2017.
The Thu Thiem is planned to be the city's financial centre and an extension to the downtown area.
