City administrative hub to get helicopter port

HCM City's People's Committee plans to include a helicopter port within the city's new administrative centre. The committee has given approval to a contest for designs of the new admin centre, which will be located on an 18,000-sq.m plot of land downtown, surrounded by Le Thanh Ton, Pasteur, Ly Tu Trong and Dong Khoi streets in District 1.

Nhat Tan Bridge to open in October

Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai on Monday conducted an inspection of the construction of the road from Nhat Tan Bridge to Noi Bai International Airport. The Deputy Prime Minister said he wanted to ensure progress of the project so that it opened to traffic in October. The 12-kilometre road will cut half of travelling distance and time from the centre of Ha Noi to Noi Bai International Airport.

City in need of 455 nursery teachers

HCM City has recruited more than 480 nursery teachers for the academic year, but it needs an additional 455 teachers, according to the city's Department of Education and Training. Eleven wards and communes in the city have no nursery schools, the department said.
