The Quang Tri Province People's Committee has earmarked 370 tonnes of rice for providing to ethnic minority families that are in need of food aid during the period between crops.
Of this 187 tonnes are meant for Huong Hoa District, 130 tonnes for Dakrong, 35 tonnes for three communes in Vinh Linh, and the rest for three communes in Gio Linh and Cam Lo.
Provincial authorities have instructed communes and districts to distribute the rice promptly and to the right people.

Mekong Delta targets $11b in exports
The Cuu Long (Mekong) Delta city of Can Tho will co-operate with other cities and provinces in the region to step up trade promotion in overseas markets, Nguyen Khanh Tung, director of the city Department of Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Centre, told a meeting in Can Tho on Friday.
The move is aimed at promoting exports, enabling the region to top US$11 billion this year, he said.

Supporting industries to get incentives
The Ministry of Industry and Trade has completed a draft decree to boost development of supporting industries, with special treatment and support to be provided to firms in the sector.
The firms will get income tax waiver for a maximum of four years and a 50 per cent reduction for up to nine more years.
Their capital expenditure on pollution control and environment protection will be subsidised by up to 50 per cent.
Firms set up outside industrial parks will get a 50 per cent waiver of land rental for 11 years.

Fifty nine contracts were signed between producers and distributors in HCM City and An Giang at a meeting in An Giang on Friday.
An Giang businesses will supply canned farm produce (tomato and okra), frozen tra and basa fish, processed food, and rice.
HCM City firms will supply food, foodstuff, office supplies, and household electrical products to Tu Son Supermarket in An Giang.
