Twenty-one out of 33 enterprises in HCM City that suffered a combined loss of VND5.4 billion ($260,000) during the anti-China riots in mid-May have resumed operations and have not sought compensation, the HCM City Export Processing and Industrial Zones Authority said.
Only 13 enterprises had insurance.
Nine of them have made claims for VND3.8 billion ($180,000).
No company suffered direct loss due to the riots, but contracts were cancelled, materials and components held by companies in other provinces were destroyed, and debts could not be collected.

Dung Quat refinery resumes operations
After halting operations for maintenance for a second time in two months, the Dung Quat Oil Refinery in the central province of Quang Ngai resumed work on Wednesday.
The maintenance work cost $66.8 million and involved 4,000 experts, engineers, and workers.
