The Ha Noi University of Technology is implementing a project for building research capacity and developing and transferring technologies for recycling waste at a cost of US$1.5 million funded by South Korean official development assistance.
The three-year project that began this year aims to develop the country's waste recycling industry, protect the environment, reduce pollution, and conserve natural resources, Huynh Trung Hai, head of the university's School of Environmental Science and Technology, said.

Hand, foot and mouth disease kills two children
More than 31,100 children across the country have contracted hand, foot and mouth disease so far this year, with two of them dying in the southern provinces of Long An and Ba Ria-Vung Tau, according to the Department of Preventive Medicine.
Nearly 1,150 cases of dengue fever have also been reported since the beginning of the year, including seven fatalities.
Four people died of viral encephalitis out of 319 who contracted the disease, the department said.

MoT raises $93m from equitising firms
The Ministry of Transport raised VND1.96 trillion (US$93.3 million) from the equitisation of 10 State-owned enterprises in the first half of this year.
Of this money, more than VND1.12 trillion went into a fund for restructuring and development of State-owned enterprise while the companies retained the rest.
Enterprises under the ministry plan to raise more than VND228 billion (US$10.8 million) from selling off their stakes in other companies this year.
