Da Nang braces for 20% jump in tourists

Update: April, 25/2014 - 09:45
The number of tourists to Da Nang are rising 15-20 per cent for the upcoming holidays, compared with the same period last year, according to Tran Chi Cuong, deputy director of the city's Culture, Sports and Tourism Department.

Travel agencies last week said they were worried that tourists would cancel plans to visit Da Nang after the city decided not to organise the International Lighting Festival planned for Liberation Day.

However, several days ago, bookings at travel agencies increased as more people made plans to visit Da Nang to spend the five-day holiday marking the nation's Liberation Day (April 30) and May Day (May 1).
