The Central Highlands forestry board has recommended that the Government should appropriate 16,000 hectares of forest lands allotted for 132 rubber plantation projects.
The areas will be reforested starting this year to increase the total forest cover in the region to more than 50 per cent by 2020.

Ca Mau Province has proposed to the Government that it will undertake 10 projects to mitigate climate change and sea level rise by 2020.
The country's southernmost province is now building three resettlement areas along the coast for 2,000 households living in vulnerable places.

Kien Giang reclaims 1,276ha of land
Kien Giang has appropriated over 1,276ha of land from 19 enterprises to allot to people who do not have land for cultivation in the Long Xuyen quadrangular area, including Hon Dat, Kien Luong, and Long Thanh districts, according to the province Department of Natural Resources and Environment.
The lands were seized because the firms failed to use them in time or used them illegally.

Tay Ninh to provide soft loans to SMEs
Nguyen Thi Thu Thuy, the People's Committee chairwoman of the southern province of Tay Ninh, has approved an increase in lending by the province's Investment and Development Fund to VND500 billion ($23.5 million) to small and medium-sized enterprises by next year.
SMEs will get soft loans to tide over difficulties they may face.
The fund will disburse VND170 billion ($8 million) of the amount this year.
