Quang Binh provides rice to help locals
The central province of Quang Binh has decided to set aside 1,200 tonnes of rice to support local residents during the period between rice harvests.
Le Thuy District will receive 40 tonnes, Quang Ninh District 70 tonnes, Dong Hoi City 40 tonnes, District of Bo Trach and Quang Trach 300 tonnes each, Tuyen Hoa District 190 tonnes and Minh Hoa District 200 tonnes. The provincial Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs will work closely with local authorities to ensure that allocation is done properly.

HCM City cancels 700 IP projects
Investment licences have been withdrawn or suspended for more than 700 projects in HCM City's industrial parks (IPs) due to financial problems, according to an inspection of IPs and economic zones (EZs), the Government has announced.
Of the figure, 161 domestic and foreign-direct invested (FDI) projects had total invested capital of VND4.8 trillion (US$227.6 million) and US$260 million, respectively. At least 203 domestic and FDI projects have halted operations, valued at nearly VND5.2 trillion (US$246.56 million) and $386 million, respectively, according to a report from the National Steering Committee for the Development of IPs and EZs.

Lam Dong donates $426,000 to Spratlys
The Vietnamese Fatherland Front's Committee of the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong said that its "Fund for Truong Sa (Spratly) Archipelago" campaign raised over VND9 billion ($426,780) to help build Truong Sa's infrastructure and improve residents' lives.
Contributors included thousands of individuals and 500 divisions and organisations in the province.
