The first social housing project in HCM City last Sunday was built in Binh Chanh District. With total capital of VND1.4 trillion ($66.6 million), the project has investment from Hoang Quan Real Estate Company. It will be completed in the last quarter of 2015.
The project will have half of 1,735 apartments reserved for Ministry of Public Security officials and the rest for the city's social housing fund.
Until now, the project is the only one to use loans from the national credit package of VND30 trillion ($1.4 billion) with an annual interest rate of 6 per cent.

The Central Highlands province of Lam Dong boasts up to 1,247 kinds of medicinal plants, including 40 kinds listed in the Viet Nam Red Book.
The province has 50 kinds of ginseng, of which there are 80 kinds in Viet Nam. Globally, there are 400 kinds of ginseng.

Million more families to access electricity
PM Nguyen Tan Dung has approved a programme to provide electricity to rural, mountainous, and island areas by 2020.
With total capital of VND28.8 trillion (US$1.3 billion), the programme aims to provide electricity to more than 1 million families in 57 communes, 12,140 villages and hamlets.

Pepper output exceeds target
The Central Highlands provinces have planted more than 28,500 hectares of pepper, with Dak Lak and Gia Lai exceeding their output for planned areas in 2020.
High prices are driving the trend, according to the Central Highlands Steering Committee.
The areas of pepper will increase by 6,000ha by 2020. Plans are for 10,000 hectares for Gia Lai Province and 8,500 hectares for Dak Lak Province.
