Road maintenance requires $554m

The Viet Nam Directorate for Roads has submitted to the Ministry of Transport a plan for the maintenance of road infrastructure in 2014.

The plan will require a fund of VND11.65 trillion (US$554 million) to be used for the regular maintenance of 276 bridges, 2,295 kilometres of roads and 153 traffic hazards.

Binh Duong trade surplus reaches $1 billion

In the first six months, southern Binh Duong Province exported goods worth nearly $6 billion, up 16.3 per cent and imported goods worth $4.9 billion, an increase of 17.4 per cent.

According to the province's Department of Trade, exports grew positively because of the stable exchange rate, reduced interest rates and stable material prices, as well as recovering export markets like the US, Japan, the EU and South Korea.
