Finance Ministry to check cooking gas pricing

The Price Management Department under the Ministry of Finance has sent an official dispatch to local finance departments, asking them to check pricing compliance by Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG) trading companies in their localities.

The local departments have been told to submit inspection results to the ministry by February 20.

Gov't to evaluate agricultural insurance

An inspection team consisting of representatives from the Government Office, the ministries of Finance and Agriculture and Rural Development will conduct an inspection of the pilot programme on agricultural insurance in Ha Noi.

The team will solve problems that have emerged during implementation of the pilot programme as well as collect petitions to submit to the Government so that it can review and amend the insurance policy for the agricultural sector.

Philippines to review tariffs on VN glass

The Viet Nam Competition Authority under the Ministry of Industry and Trade last Wednesday said the Bureau of Import Services of the Philippines (BIS) will review tariffs imposed on imports of Vietnamese float glass as a safeguard measure.

The Department of Trade and Industry of the Philippines applied the measures in 2004 and retained it two times in 2006 and 2009.

Under the Safeguard Measures Act of the Philippines and regulations under the ASEAN Free Trade Agreement, BIS will annually review tariff duties imposed on imported products based on the situation of local production.

Thua Thien-Hue to invest in infrastructure

The central province of Thua Thien-Hue will invest nearly VND14 trillion (US$696.8 million) to carry out key projects this year, an increase of 32.7 per cent over last year, according to the provincial People's Committee.

Projects expected to be deployed this year are in infrastructure development, education and training, planning and developing rural areas, social welfare and developing and expanding core urban areas.
