Hạ Long City has been considered a golden destination for real estate investment. Plans for Halong Marina, which is located in the heart of the tourism city, call for developing it into a regional finance and tourism hub.
The urban area, which is already growing rapidly, is preparing for significant changes after its adjusted planning received approval from the Quảng Ninh Province to become a modern and vibrant coastal urban area looking onto Hạ Long Bay.
According to the plan, the urban area will be divided into four zones. The north of Hoàng Quốc Việt Street will be the zone for residential projects, while the three peninsulas in the south of Hoàng Quốc Việt Steet will be developed into a finance and tourism hub.
The central peninsula will be the heart of Halong Marina, and will be developed into a festive boulevard, displaying the features of the famous La Rable street in the coastal city of Barcelona, including a pedestrian street and Marine Times Square, where tourism and cultural events will take place.
Designed by Spanish architect Salvador Perez Arroyo, Marine Times Square promises to be one of the masterpieces of this talented architect.
Walking along the pedestrian street, visitors can enjoy fresh air at water square, as well as a play zone for children, an outdoor sports area, and souvenir shops under the shadow of trees and the artistic light system. At the end of the street is Marine Times Square, near a garden and a 1-kilometre long beach.
The central peninsula will also reshape the skyline of Hạ Long City with high-rise buildings of up to 40 storeys, which will include offices of leading enterprises, as well as banks and hotels.
Where investors seek opportunity
Hạ Long City has long been a magnet for tourism property investment, driven by its impressive tourism growth and developed infrastructure.
Dương Thùy Dung, head of market research at CBRE Việt Nam, said that Hạ Long City is attractive to investors, thanks to a number of infrastructure projects, such as Hà Nội – Hải Phòng – Hạ Long – Móng Cái expressways and Vân Đồn International Airport.
Many well-known companies have invested capital here to realise its potential, such as VinGroup, SunGroup, FLC and BIM Group.
