Vincom Cup ice skating competition attracts potential contestants

With many professional athletes and international experts participating, the Third Vincom Cup Ice Skating Championship beginning in the middle of this week, promises to be the most desired event.

In many countries around the world, figure skating is a familiar sport, always making an appearance at the Winter Olympics. In Việt Nam, although being quite new, figure skating has been pursued by many young people showing the potential and attractiveness of this subject.

Understanding that need, Vincom Cup - the first professional skating tournament in Việt Nam - was kicked off in 2015 and resonated in two years. This is a programme jointly organised by Việt Nam’s General Department of Sports and Physical Training, Vincom Retail Joint Stock Company and Asian Skating Union (ASU).

Appearing during the Christmas season this year, the Việt Nam Ice Skating Championship - Vincom Cup 2017 with the participation of 50 contestants (from 7 to 23 years), includes many contestants who have been training and competing in a number of countries in the region, promising to make it an attractive tournament.
The judging panel is supervised by foreign experts, Laila Abdulla (member of ASU) and Liudmila Yurievna Kuznetsova (Senior Technical Expert - Trainer of the New Zealand Ice Figure Skating Association).

The official opening event began on December 22 at Vincom Ice Rink Royal City. Especially, on the Gala night of the final round on December 24, in addition to the competition performances of contestants, participants and visitors will also enjoy the performances of the coaches from the provinces and cities across the country.
Based on age and content, contestants are divided into six cataegories: Senior, Junior, Basic Novice B, Basic Novice A, Pre-Novice and Juvenile. Scores are judged on the rules and criteria of the International Skating Federation (ISU), which essentially assesses the technical and artistic aspects of each test.

The top three performers will display their skills in skating, and the combination of ability and creativity in performance will be honoured, awarded trophies, medals, certificates of the programme and other valuable rewards.

Preparations are on to complete it with the aim of bringing a successful tournament to Viet Nam that leaves a good impression on the audience. Contestants too have been practicing with the highest intensity, in this regard.

Professionally organised with infrastructure of international standards together with the supervision of foreign experts, Việt Nam Skating Olympiad 2017 – the third Vincom Cup promises to bring to the audience outstanding performances, with the aim of participating in official tournaments organised by the ISU in future.

Vincom Ice Rink Royal City (Hà Nội) is located in the international standard ice rink in Việt Nam managed by Vincom Retail JSC. This is a destination for lovers of skating and also offers winter sports courses such as basic and advanced skating, and hockey, guided by professional coaches.
