HCM CITY — The Saigon Union of Trading Co-operatives (Saigon Co-op) on November 10 opened the first Co.opmart supermarket in Phú Thọ Province and its 101st overall.

The new outlet in Việt Trì City spreads over 3,700sq.m and took an investment of VNĐ65 billion (US$2.79 million).

It stocks more than 30,000 items, 90 per cent of which are high-quality Vietnamese products.

Like all Co.opmart outlets, it sells price-stabilised goods and will act as a conduit for goods and speciality products from Việt Trì and the province to enter the Co.opmart network.

At the opening, Co.opmart donated VNĐ50 million to the Việt Trì Fatherland Front and gave gifts worth VNĐ22 million to poor households in the local ward.

Also to mark its opening, the store has launched promotions until November 23, with discounts of up to 50 per cent on thousands of essential items and hundreds of attractive gifts to shoppers.

Customers with a bill worth at least VNĐ300,000 can win attractive lucky draw prizes like a Honda SHMode 2018 scooter, LG 626L fridge, Samsung 8.5kg washing machine, Midea infrared cooker and others. — VNS
