HÀ NỘI — The Ministry of Public Security seized three trucks, carrying 50 tonnes of smuggled candy and children toys.

Officials say the origin and destination of the loads remain a mystery.

The trucks were stopped by the police on the Nội Bài – Lào Cai Expressway, heading to Hà Nội.

Although they were labelled in Chinese and Thai, the drivers failed to produce documents to prove the origin of these goods.

According to the police, the candies and toys were illegally transported to Việt Nam for the Mid-Autumn festival.
