HCM City authorities have approved a pilot project to operate electric cars in downtown HCM City. The city-based company Kingtour will operate 20 electric cars, each carrying from eight to 14 passengers, on three routes.

HCM CITY — HCM City authorities have approved a pilot project to operate electric cars in downtown HCM City. The city-based company Kingtour will operate 20 electric cars, each carrying from eight to 14 passengers, on three routes.

These electric cars will travel through well-known tourist sites such as the Notre-Dame Cathedral, the city’s Post Office, the Reunification Palace, the Workers Cultural Palace; Tao Đàn Park, Bình Tây Market, Goddess Thiên Hậu Pagoda, and An Đông Market.

Major stopovers are Sofitel Plaza Sài Gòn (17 Lê Duẩn St); New World Hotel (76 Lê Lai St); Sheraton Hotel (88 Đồng Khởi St); Victory Hotel (14 Võ Văn Tần St); and Ocean Palace Restaurant (2 Lê Duẩn St).

The cars will operate from 8am to 4pm and 7pm to 11pm every day, with tickets priced at VNĐ12,000 for a full trip and VNĐ6,000 for a half journey.
