HCM City hosts international culinary festival

HCM CITY — The Taste of the World 2016 culinary festival featuring typical dishes from countries around the world will be held at Lê Văn Tám Park in HCM City’s District 1 from December 15-18.

The annual event will showcase dishes at 150 booths of 45 restaurants, hotels and food & beverage firms from 17 countries and territories.

Participants will present special features of their cuisine as well as perform in traditional costumes.

A wide range of activities will be held, including cooking demonstrations and dish serving at display booths, tastings of coffee, tea and wine, bartenders’ performances, and a traditional dish contest.  

Chefs from 20 five-star hotels and two high-end restaurants in HCM City will introduce their special dishes at a Five-Star Chef festival with the theme “Joyful Season”.

The World Federation Culture Collections will demonstrate how to cook Korean food.

The city’s Department of Tourism in coordination with the city’s Tourism Association organised the festival to promote culinary culture and tourism as well as cultural exchange among countries. —VNS
