BÌNH ĐỊNH — Central Bình Định Province has scored various achievements in the first nine months of the year.

Total number of tourists visiting the province was 2.6 million, an increase of 26 per cent against the same period last year.

Foreign visitors reached more than 200,000, up by 25 per cent.

The average time a visitor spent in the locality was 2.5 days. The total income from tourism in the first nine months was more than VND1,200 billion (US$5.33 million), a 45 per cent increase over the same period last year.

Local authorities have given priority to sea tourism and island tours, with various options such as boat tours, sports on the sea, sea diving and seafood, as well as viewing corals and visiting the islands of Kỳ Co, Nhơn Châu and the Phương Mai sand hill.

The province has coordinated with the neighbouring provinces of Phú Yên, Gia Lai and Đăk Lăk, and with HCM City, Thailand, Laos and Cambodia to establish new trans-regional tours.

The province plans to further promote home stays in Quy Nhơn City. — VNS
