Festival to honor nation's father

The Lac Long Quan Temple Festival in Ha Noi's Thanh Oai District will be held from April 3 to 6 to commemorate the nation's legendary progenitor, Lac Long Quan.

The annual event in Binh Da village will feature traditional ceremonies and cultural activities like folk games and calligraphy art.

According to legend, Lac Long Quan married Au Co, who produced 100 eggs from which came 100 sons believed to be the ancestors of all Vietnamese. Lac Long Quan died in Binh Da, according to the legend. — VNS
