VN proves a popular holiday destination for Russians

The number of tourists from Russia were higher than any other country during January and February. However, total tourist arrivals fell nearly 12.5 per cent year-on-year in February, according to the General Statistics Office (GSO).

More than 54,000 Russians visited during the first two months of the year, accounting for one-fourth of the total number of Russian tourists last year.

Viet Nam received a total of 1.21 million foreign visitors in the year's first two months, about 90.4 per cent of the number during the same period last year.

According to the Russian consulate general in HCM City, the most favoured destinations in Viet Nam for Russian visitors are Khanh Hoa, Binh Thuan, Ba Ria-Vung Tau and Kien Giang provinces, which attracted a total of 200,000 tourists last year. — VNS
