Deep-Fried Cuttlefish with Salt and Pepper

Deep-fried cuttlefish with salt and pepper is one of the most favourite dishes at most Cantonese restaurants. Ideal as a starter, snack or served with rice, it's easy to make this spicy and crisp at home. Try it yourself with recipes from chef Ming of Crystal Jade Palace.

Ingredients: serves 4

  • 150g squid
  • ¼ pcs egg
  • ¼ tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp minced chilli
  • Japanese salt and pepper to taste


  • Cut squid like a flower and poach it, keep it dry and mix with flour.
  • Deep fried squid and put minced garlic, salt and pepper together.
  • Display on dish.
