Hà Nội and Hồ Chí Minh City divers bagged golds at National Sports Games

Hà Nội, Hồ Chí Minh City and Quảng Ninh have collected three golds in the first competition day of diving at National Sports Games, held yesterday at Mỹ Đình Water Sports Stadium.

HÀ NỘI — Hà Nội, Hồ Chí Minh City and Quảng Ninh collected three golds on the first competition day of diving at the National Sports Games yesterday at Mỹ Đình Water Sports Stadium.

In the men’s 3m synchronized diving, Phương Thế Anh and Vũ Anh Duy from Hà Nội took a gold with 271.11 points. The silver went to Dương Văn Thành and Nguyễn Tùng Dương from Hải Phòng while Nguyễn Đăng Khương and Phùng Văn Nam from Quảng Ninh took bronze.

In the women’s synchronized diving, Nguyễn Vũ Thảo Quyên and Nguyễn Vũ Thảo Quỳnh from Hồ Chí Minh City took gold with 208.77 points.

Ngô Phương Mai - Nguyễn Phương Anh from Hà Nội were runners-up, followed by Hoàng Hồng Phượng and Mai Hồng Hạnh from Quảng Ninh.

In the men’s 1m springboard, Phùng Văn Nam from Quảng Ninh Province took gold with 285.48 points, followed by Duy and Dương.

In badminton, Hà Nội beat the Military team 3-2 in the first semi-finals of the men’s doubles, whilst Hồ Chí Minh City beat People’s Public Security 3-0.

Hà Nội will meet HCM City in the final.

In the women’s doubles, Bắc Giang beat Hà Nội 3-0 and Thái Bình overcame Đà Nẵng 3-1.

The singles event will start tomorrow.

In handball, Hà Nội’s men beat Đà Nẵng 35-17 and Yên Bái 32-22, while Hà Nội’s women beat Bình Định 35-15.

They will face Hồ Chí Minh City on November 21. — VNS
