Im Jaeyeon wins ninth stage of VTV Cup

South Korean professional cyclist Im Jaeyeon continued his good form, winning the ninth stage of VTV International Cycling Tournament – Tôn Hoa Sen Cup yesterday.

HÀ NỘI — South Korean professional cyclist Im Jaeyeon continued his good form, winning the ninth stage of VTV International Cycling Tournament – Tôn Hoa Sen Cup yesterday.

Im won the 242 kilometre stage from Tam Kỳ City in the central province of Quảng Nam to Quy Nhơn City in the central province of Bình Định with a time of 5:30.12. Lê Văn Duẩn from AV Việt Mỹ Association and Robert Muller from NCCT Laos finished second and third respectively.

David Van Eerd of Netherlands’ Global Cycling Team retains both the yellow race leader’s jersey and the green sprinter’s jersey after nine stages.

The team rankings were unchanged. Lộc Trời Group remains first, followed by Bike Life Đồng Nai and Domesco Pharmacy Đồng Tháp.

The white jersey for the best placed young cyclist is held by Huỳnh Thanh Tùng of Military Zone Seven.

The VTV International Cycling Tournament – Tôn Hoa Sen Cup is offering its largest prize pool yet, a record breaking $55,778 in total. The yellow jersey winner – the best racer at the end of the competition’s 14 stages – will take home $8,582. — VNS
