HƯNG YÊN — Sông Lam Nghệ An (SLNA) beat SHB Đà Nẵng in the semi-final of the National U17 Football Championship - Thái Sơn Nam Cup 2018, held yesterday at PVF Football Academy in the northern province of Hưng Yên.

In the opening exchanges, both teams were cautious, started off slowly as they felt each other out.

First half chances were few and far between as most of the action was centered in the middle of the pitch.

Despite being one of the best in the league this season, Mạnh Quỳnh struggled in his game and was replaced at half time by Văn Hiến.

The switch paid dividends and after 67 minutes, Hiến found the back of the net after a net pass from Văn Lương.

This forced head coach Võ Phước’s SHB Đà Nẵng to attack, but SLNA’s defence stood strong and the match finished 1-0 — VNS
