HÀ NỘI — Sarda Pered Javier won the overall yellow jersey of the Bình Dương Television Cycling Tournament which concluded in the southern province of Bình Dương yesterday.
Javier of Gạo Hạt Ngọc Trời-An Giang took the event’s most-wanted award after having the best overall time of 20:09.01 after seven stages. Phan Hoàng Thái of Domesco Pharmacy Đồng Tháp and Nguyễn Đắc Thời of An Giang Plant Protection were the runners-up.
The green jersey as the best sprinter belonged to Quàng Văn Cường of Gạo Hạt Ngọc Trời-An Giang. While both the red jersey award as the King of Mountain and the white jersey went to Thái.
Domesco Pharmacy Đồng Tháp won the team’s race with a time of 60:30.06, followed by Gạo Hạt Ngọc Trời-An Giang and Ynghua Đồng Nai.
The annual event attracted the participation of nearly 70 cyclists from 11 teams nationwide, competing in seven stages covering a near 800km long course.
The event had a total prize of VNĐ400 million (US$17,400), of which the winner of the overall yellow jersey award walked away with VNĐ60 million ($2,600). — VNS
