We also have three training camps in HCM City to train 90 potential players, and three tournament trips in Japan for 54 selected kids,” said Đỗ Thu Hoàng, deputy director of TMV.

“Last year, young children representing Việt Nam won the silver medal in this tournament. After the camp, many children continued pursuing professional football,” he noted.

This year, players will receive coaching from manager Lê Huỳnh Đức and footballer Phan Thanh Bình, two stars who are loved by national fans.

The preliminary selection, held from June 10 to July 1, will take place in Hà Nội, Đà Nẵng, HCM City and Pleiku City in the Central Highlands province of Gia Lai.

After the selection, the 18 best players will be selected to join the friendship tournament in Japan from September 13 to 20. — VNS
