HÀ NỘI — Hosts VTV Bình Điền Long An won the third match of Group A at the VTV9 Bình Điền International Women’s Volleyball tournament in Quảng Nam Province on Wednesday.
They beat Thông tin Liên Việt Post Bank 25-23, 25-19, 23-25, 25-19 in an all- Vietnamese club match.
Bình Điền Long An currently are the only team to have won all three matches in the group round.
In another match, Est Cola of Thailand lost 26-24, 25-27, 18-25, 17-25 to Fujian of China.
Bình Điền Long An and Fujian have advanced to the semi-finals.
In Group B, American BIP and Jiangshu are representatives in the knockout round as they secured their berths after two matches.
In the last matches today, BIP and Jiangshu will play against each other. The winner will top the group.
Earlier, Vietnamese Vietinbank will see Almaty of Kazakhstan.
Teams who do not qualify for the next round will take part in the classification matches for the fifth to eighth positions.
Athletes will have a day off on Friday. Matches will resume from Saturday. — VNS
