HÀ NỘI — Defending champions Thái Sơn Nam won for the second time at the National Futsal Championship after beating Tân Hiệp Hưng 2-0 in Đà Nẵng on Wednesday.
Quốc Nam and Tôn Thất Phi scored goals in a match that was dominated by TháiSơn Nam from the beginning.
“We managed the game at a slow pace (to limit Tân Hiệp Hưng’s country-attack style). But it also prevented us from scoring as many goals as we had expected. We will compensate for it in the next game,” said coach Nguyễn Bảo Quân of Thái SơnNam.
After two rounds, Thái Sơn Nam have six points and lead the ranking. They will next play Sanatech-Sana Khánh Hoà.
Their two closest rivals, Sài Gòn and Hải Phương Nam Gia Định University, also won in futsal matches.
Sài Gòn beat Thái Sơn Bắc 3-1 while Hải Phương Nam trounced Kim Toàn Đà Nẵng 4-1.
Hải Phương Nam and Sài Gòn are at second and third places, respectively, but have the same points as Thái Sơn Nam.
According to coach Nguyễn Tuấn Anh, several teams being at the same level would make for an aggressive championship. He believed it would be a competitive event this season and that teams would have to struggle to win.
In the next fixture, Hải Phương Nam will play Tân Hiệp Hưng on Saturday, while SàiGòn will face Sana Khánh Hoà. — VNS
